Noleen Reed - Potter

Artist Statement

I find myself being inspired by my surroundings and using what I see, in some form, in my work. Living by the sea is hugely beneficial. I enjoy the natural change and development in my work that always occurs over time, even if it remains subtle.

I like to make simple, yet hopefully beautiful pieces, that can be enjoyed for their aesthetic while maintaining their original functional purpose.

The work is thrown on the wheel, using a white stoneware clay body, fired to 1200 degrees centigrade. The transfers add a third firing to the process, and also give me the liberty to change the imagery I use, with regularity and ease.
